Fundraising Event to be hosted by Former and Current Wake County Commissioners

Dear Friends,
We are writing you today on behalf of all former and current Republican Wake County Commissioners, including Stewart Adcock, John Converse, Herb Council, J.T. Knott, Jr., and ourselves. With unemployment at a record high and an executive government that is not encouraging job growth in North Carolina, we can all agree that it is time to change the faces in Raleigh. The General Assembly has been able to pass many bills promoting small business growth with much opposition from the Governor and Lieutenant Governor. It is imperative that we not only keep the majority in the General Assembly but also win the executive branch in the upcoming election.
As current and former members of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, we would like to announce our support for Tony Gurley for Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina. Our good friend Tony knows what it takes to build and sustain a successful small business, as he has owned and operated pharmacies for more than 25 years. As a member of the Wake County Board of Commissioners for three terms, Tony has served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Board, and has been an invaluable asset to our county. We believe Tony has more to offer our state.
Through our interactions with Tony, we know he is well suited to serve North Carolina on the state level, and we ask that you join us in our support. We will be hosting a fundraising reception for Tony at Caffé Luna in downtown Raleigh on September 1, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. NCGOP Convention Poolside Reception
This coming weekend’s GOP State Convention will be a great time to celebrate our 2010 victories and begin our efforts to elect a Republican Governor in 2012 and keep our majorities in the General Assembly.
